About Me

Daichi Ito

I am a Technical Research Artist at Adobe Research, based in San Jose, California. Since joining Adobe in 2012, I have worked at the intersection of technology and creativity, collaborating closely with computer scientists, researchers, and artists.

As AI rapidly reshapes the creative landscape, my work focuses on an increasingly important question: how can creative professionals embrace AI tools while preserving their unique artistic identities? I explore this question through research, prototyping, tool development, and conversations within both Adobe and the broader creative community.

At my core, I am a creator. Concept art, caricature, 3D artwork, and animation are essential parts of who I am, even when working with AI. I am fluent in a wide range of traditional 2D and 3D production pipelines, constantly experiment with emerging AI tools, and use modern vibe-coding workflows to prototype ideas and bring concepts to life faster than ever.

My day-to-day work includes driving future-facing art tools, creating exclusive art datasets, and exploring new creative workflows enabled by emerging technologies. I also support Adobe researchers as an artist for US Adobe Sneaks demonstrations and have presented Sneaks demonstrations at Adobe MAX Japan since 2016.

Before Adobe, I worked as a production artist at Zynga. I hold both a B.F.A. and an M.A. in Art, Animation, and Illustration from San José State University.
